2 Fatal Accidents Sunday
Two Separate accidents over the weekend have claimed the life of two area individuals.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, the First accident occurred just after 3 am on Sunday morning at the intersection of Meeker County Road 6 and 746th Avenue in Collinwood Township. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a Telephone Pole in the ditch. Both occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle. 19 year old Nolan Henke of Dassel was pronounced dead at the scene, while 19 year old Elijah Miller of Cokato was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
The second accident was reported by the Minnesota State Patrol on Highway 212 at Tagus Avenue, west of Brownton. On Sunday morning, shortly before 8 am a Honda Civic driven by 60 year old Wade Kenneth Halvorsen of Waconia collided with a Peterbilt Semi at that location. Halvorsen was pronounced dead at the scene.
