2 killed in Mankato Fire

(Mankato, MN/Minnesota News Network) — Two children are the victims of a deadly duplex fire early Monday morning in Mankato. Police say two adults and three kids were in the apartment, and a man and one child escaped without injury. Mankato Public Safety said two children died in the fire, and a woman was airlifted to the H-C-M-C Burn Center for treatment. Public Safety Director Jeremy Clifton says they are working to determine the cause. The occupants of the lower unit got out safely.
