Twins Beat Tigers In Final Game Of Series

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins salvaged the final game of their four-game series against the Detroit Tigers with an 8-1 win from Target Field yesterday. Byron Buxton, Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee all homered in the victory. Thomas Hatch earned his second win with five innings of one-run ball. Minnesota remains in fourth place in the A-L Central at 58-66. Former Twins pitcher Chris Paddack was charged with his 11th loss after surrendering eight runs on nine hits in five-and-two-thirds innings for Detroit. The Tigers still lead the A-L Central at 73-53. Prior to yesterday’s game, former Twins third baseman Corey Koskie was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame. The Twins are off today and will host the Athletics to open a three-game series tomorrow night at Target Field.
