3M Open announces more big names

(Blaine, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The P-G-A Tour’s 3-M Open is now a little more than three weeks away and tournament organizers released a list of the golfers set to take part. The list is subject to change. Included in the entry list are big name golfers Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, defending tourney champion Jhonnattan Vegas, Maverick McNealy, Akshay Bhatia, and Tom Kim. The field will also include former Gopher golfer Erik van Rooyen, Stillwater native Frankie Capan III, and Fargo’s Tom Hoge. Two-time major winner and former Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson will take part in the field for a second straight year, while former U-S Open winner Webb Simpson is also committed to play. The 3-M Open will host its opening round on Thursday, July 24th at the T-C-P Twin Cities course in Blaine. Tickets are available at the tourney website with a discount through next Monday.
