Twins Avoid Sweep in Pittsburgh

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Minnesota Twins avoided a sweep at the hands of the Pirates following an 11-5, extra innings victory from Pittsburgh Sunday.

The game was tied at five in the top of the 10th inning when Manuel Margot laced an RBI triple to give Minnesota the lead.

Carlos Santana doubled-home a pair of runs as the team hung a seven-spot in the inning. Carlos Correa recorded three hits and two RBI in the game, while Jhoan Duran earned the win in relief.

The Twins snapped a five-game losing streak and sit third in the AL Central at 34-31. Ben Heller got the loss after giving up six earned runs in the 10th.

Connor Joe drove in a pair of runs for Pittsburgh, which remains last in the NL Central at 31-34.

The Twins open a season-long ten-game home stand with a game tonight (Monday) against the Colorado Rockies at 6:40 P-M.
