NEW ULM MAN CONNECTED TO LAKE CRYSTAL HOMICIDE DIES

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office says the New Ulm man connected to the Lake Crystal homicide has died.  Authorities say 64-year-old Gary Rodewald died of his injuries after police found him with a self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday.  Authorities tried to track him down Friday morning after a shooting in rural Lake Crystal claimed the life of 57-year-old Kristi Gardner who Rodewald was allegedly had been in a relationship with.  The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continue to investigate.
