Jerome “Jerry” Gill

Jerome “Jerry” Gill, 78, of Belle Plaine, died May 4, 2025, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, MN. Services for Jerry are private.

Jerry was born on July 4, 1946, in St. Peter, MN to Alois and Agnes (Callahan) Gill. He grew up in St. Thomas and attended Le Sueur High School, graduating in 1965. After high school, Jerry farmed with his dad before joining the United States Army during Vietnam. He returned from the service and continued farming with his father until the early 70’s. He then worked various jobs as a forklift operator.

Jerry met Susan Voss in 1988. On June 4, 1994, they married at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill, spending the next 38 beautiful years together. He loved farming and collecting pedal tractors. Jerry enjoyed going up north to Grand Marais to hike and was a known waterfall chaser. He only drank craft beer and would go to craft breweries with Sue. He especially enjoyed time with nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jerry is survived by wife Sue of Belle Plaine; siblings Mary (Joe) Giesen of Belle Plaine, Mike Gill of St. Thomas, Pat (JoAnne) Gill of Chaska, and Joey Gill of St. Thomas; brothers-in-law Randy (special friend Ann Osborn) and Scott Voss; sisters-in-law Louisa Voss, Deb Voss, Diane Block; mother-in-law Mary Jane Voss; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Earl Voss; brother-in-law Gregg Voss; brother-in-law Windy Block; and nephew Tyler Heilman.
