Twins Win 12th Straight

The Minnesota Twins have won 12 in a row, as they beat Milwaukee last night, 3-0, in Milwaukee. With the shutout, Twins pitchers have pitched 24 consecutive scoreless innings. Starter Joe Ryan went six innings, giving up two hits, one walk and striking out nine. Manager Rocco Baldelli says pitching has fueled the winning streak.

The Twins scored two runs in the first and one in the second to provide all the runs they would need, with R-B-Is from Ty France and Kody Clemens. The Twins were seven games under 500 when their win streak started — they’re now five games OVER 500 at 25-20. Minnesota also had a 12-game winning streak last year, and they’re now edging closer to the team-record of 15-straight by the 1991 team that went on to win the World Series. The three-game series at Milwaukee continues tonight at 6:15 with Pablo Lopez getting the start for Minnesota.
