Twins can’t complete sweep

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Twins lost to the Cubs on Thursday at Target Field by the score of 8-1. Starter Chris Paddack got rocked for six runs on 11 hits in five innings pitched. The Twins had just four hits in the game and the only run scored on a solo homer by Kody Clemens. Despite the loss, the Twins took two-out-of-three games in the series. With three games left before the All-Star Break, the Twins are 45-48, four games back of the final wild-card spot in the American League. Next up is a three-game series against Pittsburgh at Target Field. Tonight’s game will have Joe Ryan on the mound for the Twins against Paul Skenes for the Pirates.
