ONE KILLED, ONE HURT IN PLANE CRASH NEAR GRANITE FALLS

Authorities say one person is dead and another injured after a plane crash Monday afternoon near the Granite Falls airport.  The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a plane with two people on board having engine trouble.  Emergency personnel were then called to a plane crash near Highway 23.  Deputies say crew found one person on the side of the road receiving medical treatment.  The second occupant died at the scene.  The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will conduct the investigation.
