Twins snap streak in Toronto, 2026 schedule released

(Toronto, ON/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Twins scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to beat the Blue Jays in Toronto 7-5 last night at the Rogers Centre. Mickey Gasper hit a game-tying home run to begin the inning before Matt Wallner launched a go-ahead three-run shot. Luke Keaschall also went deep in the victory, and Michael Tonkin earned his second win in relief. The Twins snapped a three-game skid and remain in fourth place in the A-L Central at 60-72. Toronto slugger George Springer hit a pair of homers in the losing effort, and Jeff Hoffman was charged with his fifth loss out of the pen. The Jays lead the A-L East with a 77-56 record. The Twins send Simeon Woods Richardson to the mound against Toronto tonight in the rubber game of the three-game set. First pitch is 6:07 P-M.

The Minnesota Twins have announced their schedule for the 2026 season. Minnesota will open the season with a road game against the Baltimore Orioles on March 26th. That is the earliest opening day in franchise history. The Twins home opener is on April 3rd against Tampa Bay. They will also play a weekend series against the Phillies in August, and one of those contests will be played in Iowa as the Field of Dreams game.
