Gopher Football Hosting Rutgers
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher football team opens Big Ten play with a home game on Saturday against Rutgers. Minnesota is 2-1 this season after losing two weeks ago at Cal 27-14. The Gophers were on a bye week last week. Rutgers lost its Big Ten opener last Friday night 38-28 to dip to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the Big Ten. Minnesota redshirt freshman Drake Lindsey says they had to learn hard lessons in the loss at Cal and he is hopeful they have made the most of learning from their miscues. He says Rutgers plays a hard-nosed style of football, so he and his teammates have to be ready to go. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 11 A-M.
