Updated: Man Died After Pulled From River in Wright County

(KSTP/Monticello, MN) A man died after being pulled from the Mississippi River on Tuesday morning and was unresponsive.

KSTP reports the Wight County Sheriff’s Office says authorities responded to a capsized boat on the Mississippi River near the Xcel Nuclear Energy plant in Monticello at about 10:30am.

Three people were in the water. Two were found safe, but the third died despite first aid efforts.

Names have not been released.
