FG Hands Vikes Second Straight Loss
The Minnesota Vikings suffered a 19-17 loss to the Chicago Bears on a last-second field goal Sunday at U-S Bank Stadium. The Purple took a 17-16 lead on a touchdown by Jordan Addison with 50 seconds remaining. But the Bears’ Devin Duvernay (DOO’-ver-nay) returned the kickoff 56 yards, setting up Cairo Santos for the 48-yard, game-winning kick. Head coach Kevin O’Connell says games like Sunday’s often come down to one or two plays.
Jordan Mason scored on a 16-yard run to start Minnesota’s fourth-quarter rally. Quarterback J-J McCarthy completed 16 of 32 passes for 151 yards, one T-D, and two interceptions. The 4-and-6 Vikings play this Sunday at 6-and-3 Green Bay.
