Driver and Passenger Injured in McLeod County Crash

A driver and passenger were injured in a single-vehicle crash in McLeod County early Sunday morning in Stewart.

The State Patrol says 29-year-old Katherine Vonholtum of Minneapolis was taken to HCMC in Minneapolis for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Her passenger, 27-year-old Christopher Benton of Redwood Falls, was taken to Hutchinson Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle was westbound on Highway 212 when Vonholtum lost control of the vehicle and it rolled into the ditch at County Road 7 just after 4:30am.

The Patrol says alcohol was involved.
