Randy Gene Engelby

Randy Gene Engelby, age 65, of Gaylord, passed away unexpectedly on December 10,
2025, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Arlington. Funeral services for Randy will be
private.
Randy was born on October 4, 1960, to Roy and Vera Engelby in Wells, MN. He was
baptized in West Freeborn Lutheran Church on April 6, 1961, in Hartland, MN. He went
to school in the Winthrop area and graduated from high school early. After high school,
Randy began working, doing farm work and driving trucks that carried agricultural and
dairy products. He later started his own trucking company in Gaylord, Randy’s Trucking,
where he hauled gravel on area road construction projects.
Randy met Peggysue Otto at a party and knew she was the one. Randy and Peggysue
married on September 8, 1990, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.
Randy loved to be tinkering in his garage and working on his vehicles. He enjoyed
listening to his classic rock and he loved it to be loud. He also loved his precious dog,
Ginger.
Randy is survived by wife, Peggysue; brothers-in-law David (special friend Dorrie
Schultz) Otto and Daniel (special friend Jackie) Otto; Jessica Schealler; and many other
relatives and friends.
