TORKELSON NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION

State Representative Paul Torkelson of Hanska has announced that he will not seek re-election this November.  He said there are a number of issues that led to his decision, mostly personal.  He said he had a good run and he would like to continue in the House but, as he says, “it’s not in the cards”…

Torkelson was first elected in 2008.  He chaired three committees, secured funding for roads and bridges including helping secure funding for the Highway 14 project between Nicollet and New Ulm.  Torkelson will finish his current term which expires in January 2027.  Torkelson represents District 15-B which consists of cities and townships in Brown, Redwood and Blue Earth Counties.
