Aces Make Franchise History With 13th Straight Win, Top First-Place Lynx 97-87

LAS VEGAS, NV — A’ja Wilson poured in 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds, leading the Las Vegas Aces to a 97-87 victory over the league-leading Minnesota Lynx on Thursday night. The win marked a franchise-record 13th straight victory for the surging Aces.

Wilson notched her 12th game this season with 30 or more points, tying a WNBA single-season record. Her performance helped Las Vegas (27-14) snap a six-game skid against the Lynx, earning their first win in the series since May 29, 2024.

The win also pulled the Aces into a three-way tie for second place with the Atlanta Dream and Phoenix Mercury, all five games behind Minnesota (32-9).

Las Vegas surged ahead in the third quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers from Jewell Loyd and Jackie Young, taking a 63-55 lead. Chelsea Gray capped the quarter with a buzzer-beating layup to keep the Aces up 70-66.

Wilson buried her lone 3-pointer midway through the fourth to stretch the lead to double digits at 81-71, effectively sealing the game.

Jackie Young contributed 20 points, while the Aces shot a scorching 55.1% from the field, including 11-of-24 from beyond the arc.

Despite a late push from Minnesota, including 22 points off the bench from Natisha Hiedeman—11 of which came in the fourth quarter—the Lynx couldn’t close the gap. Courtney Williams added 14 points, and Napheesa Collier finished with 12 on 5-of-13 shooting.

The Aces also made history by becoming just the seventh team in WNBA history to win 13 straight games in a single season. Notably, the victory came just weeks after a humbling 53-point loss to Minnesota on August 2.
