Agenda For Tonight’s Morris City Council Meeting

The City of Morris Preliminary Budget Guidance for 2026 — which will be discussed at tonight’s 5:15 p.m. Morris City Council meeting — will: maintain the current work force; present a final tax levy with a 3 to 7 percent increase in General Fund Levy; allocate more for the 2026 election as costs continue to rise and responsibilities are added for early voting; recommend a modest increase of 3 percent to the City’s contributions for Community Education and Recreation, and the Stevens County Economic Improvement Commission; modest increases in water, sanitary sewer and storm water fees; replacement of lead water lines in the city; MNDOT working on Highway 9 sidewalk project from East 1st Street to Birch Avenue (most of the funding from this project comes from MNDOT).
