Agitator Arrested After Incident at Rep. Ilhan Omar Town Hall

(Learfield News/Minneapolis, MN) — A man was taken into custody Tuesday night after disrupting Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s town hall meeting in North Minneapolis.

Omar’s office said the individual attempted to spray her with an unknown substance using a syringe.

Security personnel, along with officers from the Minneapolis Police Department, quickly intervened and apprehended the suspect.

Authorities confirmed the man remains in custody.

The substance involved has not been publicly identified.

Omar was not injured during the incident and continued with the town hall as planned.

Her office said she chose to proceed with the event and would not be deterred by intimidation.

The incident remains under investigation.
