GOVERNOR WALZ WILL NOT RUN FOR THIRD TERM
Governor Walz has announced that he will NOT run for a third term as governor. In a statement, Walz said he was “Glad to turn the page on 2025. It was an extraordinarily difficult year for our state and it ended on a sour note. He cited ongoing investigations into fraud in the state’s child care programs and the fact that President Trump has used the issue as a political cudgel. Initial findings from state investigations show the day care centers accused of fraud are operating normally. Now federal funding for such child care in Minnesota is frozen and investigations are underway. Walz said he is passing on the race with “zero sadness and regret.” He is expected to speak during a press conference today (Monday).
