Area Beaver Trappers Are Seeing Success This Season
Authorities in the area continue to keep an eye on wildlife activity near towns, farms and homes.
According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer Sarah Jahn, “calls were taken regarding a bald eagle and bears. Trapping activity was also monitored”.
Conservation officer Nick Bruesewitz in Karlstad says he spent the week monitoring Turkey hunting, shore anglers, and handling wildlife complaints. He says time was also spent responding to fires throughout the area. Enforcement action was taken for an individual who used an invalid tag during the previous deer season.
Meanwhile, conservation officer Coby Fontes in Warroad reports that numerous trappers had good success for both beavers and otters. Enforcement action was taken for failure to check traps, trapping without a license, and illegal ATV operation.
