Area Scammers Are Posing As Bail Bondsmen

Area law enforcement officials are sharing information regarding a scam affecting the listening area.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office says scammers are contacting residents and claiming a family member is in legal trouble and they need money. Reports indicate the scammers are imitating “bail bondsman”, sometimes showing up in person to collect the money and other times requesting it by mail.
