A’s Double Up Twins

The Minnesota Twins opened their series against the Athletics with a 6-3 loss at Target Field last night. The Twins took an early lead on an R-B-I double by Matt Wallner in the second inning, but all-star pitcher Joe Ryan gave up two runs in the third and three more in the fourth to get charged with his sixth loss. Brooks Lee hit a solo shot in the fourth inning.

Ryan Jeffers also homered in the losing effort. A’s pitcher Jacob Lopez earned his seventh win after allowing two earned runs and one unearned run on four hits in six innings. Minnesota is in fourth place in the A-L Central at 58-67. The A’s have won three of their last four games and moved to 57-70 on the season.
