Bad 4th quarter dooms Lynx

(Washington, DC/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Lynx scored just nine points in the fourth quarter and lost at Washington last night 68-64 at CareFirst Arena. The Lynx jumped out to a 20-6 to start the game before the host Mystics went on a 25-4 run to take a seven-point lead in the second quarter. Washington took a two-point into halftime. Minnesota led by one entering the fourth quarter, but went cold. The Lynx were 3-for-18 from three-point range in the setback. Alanna Smith poured in 26 points in the losing effort. The Lynx played without star forward Napheesa Collier, who missed a second straight game with a back injury. Minnesota remains in first place in the W-N-B-A at 12-2. The Lynx visit the Dream on Friday.
