Bad third period dooms Wild

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild surrendered two goals in the third period during a 5-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers at the Xcel Energy Center. Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi each scored in the first period to give Minnesota an early 2-0 lead, but the Oilers tied it up before the end of the frame. Ryan Hartman put Minnesota up by one early in the second before the Wild surrendered three straight goals to end the game. The Wild are in second place in the Central Division with 58 points and a 27-14-and-4 record. They visit Nashville on Saturday.
