Bears win on Walk Off Field Goal
(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Vikings gave up a field goal as time expired during a 19-17 loss to the Chicago Bears at U-S Bank Stadium yesterday. Minnesota quarterback J-J McCarthy threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to Jordan Addison with under a minute left in regulation, but Cairo Santos hit a 48-yarder at the buzzer for the visiting Bears, who improved to an N-F-C North Division best 7-3. McCarthy had 150 passing yards, a touchdown, but two interceptions in the losing effort. The Vikings are in last place in the North at 4-6. They visit the Packers this Sunday.
New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical but stable condition after being shot in Midtown Manhattan yesterday. The shooting happened early Sunday morning outside of a restaurant, where officers found Boyd with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police say they’re looking for a man who fled the scene in a blue B-M-W, although what led to the shooting is currently unknown. Boyd has not played yet this season after suffering a shoulder injury in the preseason. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 and played for the Purple until 2022.
