Blaine Dobberstein

Blaine Dobberstein, age 52 of Wheaton and Herman, Minnesota area, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation for Blaine Dobberstein will be held Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, MN.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Blaine A. Dobberstein will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, MN, with Fr. John Paul Knopik Celebrant and Fr. Joe Vandeberg Concelebrant.

Organist will be Cindy Sanasack with special music provided by Rick Fiedler and the Ave Maria Catholic Church Choir.

Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Pallbearers will be Ralph Lupkes, Darin Lupkes, Tim Backman, Mike Hervey, Jay Sheets, Aaron Deal and Jeff Young. Honorary Pallbearers will be Blaine’s nieces and nephews.

Blaine Arthur Dobberstein was born April 8, 1973 in Graceville, MN to Clyde and Joanne (Deal) Dobberstein. Blaine was a lifelong member of Ave Maria Catholic Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Blaine attended Wheaton Schools. He was a graduate of the WHS Class of 1991. He enjoyed being a member of the band where he played the trumpet. Blaine also enjoyed being a part of various teams during his school years. After high school he attended North Hennepin Community College. Blaine worked on the farm with family from 1991 – 2003, Blaine took his dad’s place in the family farming operation (D & D Farms). In 2003, Blaine was blessed to start farming with Kevin and Julie Deal. Blaine enjoyed twenty-one years working with Kevin and Julie. Recently, Blaine was also helping neighbors and friends with farm work and harvest. He absolutely loved staying busy in the field and helping with harvest. Blaine enjoyed working in the yard at home. He stayed busy keeping up the farm.

Blaine was a devoted son. He helped his family take care of their mom up until her death in September of 2025. Each day Blaine would take his beloved dog and companion, Sadie, for a ride and stop to visit with friends and neighbors. He loved Sadie dearly. Blaine had a love for all things horses. He loved horse races, rodeos and trail riding. Blaine also had an interest in cars from the 1980’s. Blaine dreamed of someday owning a Chevy Camaro IROC-Z.

After years of dialysis, in May of 2022, Blaine received a phone call that there was a kidney for him and he would receive a kidney transplant. Blaine enjoyed three great years of health. He was able to travel and enjoy life.

Blaine had a heart of gold. He was a loving brother, uncle, son, neighbor and friend. He would help anyone he could. Blaine was strong and courageous, overcoming many obstacles and health issues through the years. Blaine loved kids. He was a loving and caring uncle and godfather. He enjoyed any time he was with nieces and nephews.

Blaine is survived by: brothers: Todd Dobberstein of Anoka, MN, Mark Dobberstein of Rogers, MN, Shawn (Darla) Dobberstein of Fargo, North Dakota; sister: Jonette (Troy) Krauth of Elk River, MN; seven nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews.

Blaine was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Joanne Dobberstein; grandparents: Albert and Florence Deal, Ellsworth and Mabel Dobberstein: sister-in-law: Cheryl Dobberstein.

Arrangements are with Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton, MN.
