BLOOD TESTS SAY ALCOHOL NOT A FACTOR IN FIRE TRUCK CRASH
The state patrol says that alcohol was not a factor in the fire truck crash that killed one person in Yellow Medicine County. The crash killed 43-year-old Patrick Remiger of rural Wood Lake. Two others, 37-year-old Andrew Vanhecke and a 6-year-old boy both of Wood Lake were seriously hurt. A search warrant filed after the crash sought a blood sample from Andrew Vanhecke who was driving the fire truck. The results confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor. The fire truck was returning from Lakeview School’s homecoming festivities. The investigation is continuing.
