BOELTER DUE BACK IN COURT TODAY (THURSDAY)
Vance Boelter is set to appear in federal court this (Thursday) afternoon after his initial bail hearing was delayed last week. Federal prosecutors will push to keep Boelter locked up without bail until his trial. The decision on bail was supposed to be made already last Friday but both the defense and prosecution delayed that decision due to concerns about how Boelter is being treated in jail, claiming he hadn’t slept in 12 to 14 days, doesn’t have a pillow and lights are on in his cell around the clock. Sherburne County sheriff Joel Brott refuted those claims saying that Boelter is “being treated like every other inmate.” And that cameras have captured Boelter resting peacefully more than once. Boelter is accused of shooting and killing state representative Melissa Hortman and her husband and also shooting and wounding Senator John Hoffman and his wife. The shootings prompted the largest manhunt in state history. Boelter was eventually arrested in Sibley County.
