Book Club about the Memoir “First Gen”

Alejandra Campoverdi, author of the memoir “First Gen,” will engage in a Book Club meeting about her book from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Moccasin Flower Room of the University of Minnesota Morris Student Center. The visit is being presented by TRIO Student Support Services. The memoir reflects on the author’s experiences as a first-generation Latina navigating identity, higher education, family, belonging, and the emotional toll of social mobility.

For a wider audience, there will be a Fireside Chat with Campoverdi  from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Student Center’s Oyate Hall as she shares more about her journey as a first-generation Latina. Students will be leading and moderating the conversation, which is open to the public. The author will be available for book signings after the Fireside Chat.
