Buxton Falls in Semifinal of Home Run Derby
(Learfield News/Atlanta, GA) — Byron Buxton made it to the semifinals of the MLB Home Run Derby Monday night at the Atlanta Braves ballpark.
The Twins All-Star center fielder hit 20 homers in the first round to advance but only had seven long balls in the second round.
Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh won this year’s Home Run Derby.
Raleigh leads the league with 38 homers this season.
Buxton and pitcher Joe Ryan will represent the Minnesota Twins in the All-Star Game tonight (Tues).
