Camp House Fire 73% Contained
Officials say the recent precipitation has continued to aid crews in cooling wildfires in eastern Minnesota.
According to Area Complex Commander Brian Jenkins, “the firefighters’ steady effort in battling the Camp House Fire over the past week paid off”. Despite strong winds from the east, the Camp House Fire is now 73 percent contained while the Jenkins Creek Fire is 6 percent contained.
Fire crews near Brimson continue to work in some of the more challenging terrain to finish connecting portions of the containment line while other crews move deeper into the interior of the blaze.
Crews have held the line around the Jenkins Fire to connect existing containment lines. Five UAS flew during breaks in the wind while ground crews hit strategic hot spots.
The initial investigation into the Jenkins Creek Fire indicates the fire is related to a human cause, the investigation is ongoing. The Camp House Fire initially started on private land and moved into national forest system lands.
