Carol Marie High
Carol was born on June 19, 1943 in Mankato, Minnesota to Arthur and Muriel (Kuebler) Berndt. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1961 and attended Mankato State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching. On August 14, 1965 she married Roger High and they had 4 children. They later divorced. Carol taught elementary school in Janesville before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She later taught at Faith Christian Academy in Mankato.
She and her family moved to Le Sueur in 1980. She began teaching again and taught at Faith Christian Academy. She then taught Spanish at Le Sueur Henderson High School for 18 years until she retired in 2008. Following retirement, Carol used her free time to go on many mission trips. She went to El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Thailand, Guinea-Bissau, Nepal, and Tajikistan.
Carol loved horseback riding, traveling, camping, hiking, and the outdoors. She loved spending time with her family, especially her 6 grandchildren. She would spend every available minute with them playing games and taking them on outdoor adventures. Above all, Carol had a strong Christian faith and was passionate about her relationship with Jesus.
Carol is survived by her children: Jonathan (Yesenia) High of Plymouth, MN, Daniel (Lydia) High of Bloomington, MN, Maria (Thomas) Hennen of Le Sueur, MN, and Jeffrey High of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Xander and Yelena High, Lydiana High, and Anthony, Ethan, and Anderson Reinhardt; sister, Lynette (Norb) Smith of Mankato, MN and two nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
