CAUSE OF FATAL MANKATO FIRE DETERMINED
The State Fire Marshal has determined a fatal fire in Mankato last summer was an accident. The fire on the 200 block of Bradley Street claimed the lives of two children. The fire marshal says the fire was caused by a candle coming into contact with a lint build-up from a clothes dryer. The report says it isn’t known how that contact happened but at some point the candle had been knocked over. The report says the power to the home had been cut off a couple of weeks prior and there were candles all over the home.
