Caution Urged As Temperatures Increase
Officials with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are reminding snowmobilers and anglers to use caution on the ice.
Warmer temperatures will cause pressure ridges to move and grow on frozen bodies of water.
The deadline to remove fish houses from lakes in the southern two-thirds of the state passed at 11:59 on Monday night. Anglers in the northern third of Minnesota have two more weeks to remove their shelters. Fish houses could be confiscated by conservation officers if the owners don’t get them off the ice.
The D-N-R is also reminding everyone to pick up debris from the area where they were ice fishing.
