CHARGES FILED IN MANKATO FRAT HOUSE ARSON FIRE
A Mankato man is charged with first-degree arson for a fire Monday morning that damaged an MSU fraternity house. Blue Earth County prosecutors say 32-year-old Mitchell Thompson was caught on surveillance tape setting sheets on fire on the front porch. A witness reported seeing Thompson standing across the street at the time of the fire. Police said everyone got out safely thanks to a smoke detector. The Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house suffered fifty-thousand dollars in damage.
