Clay Walker Will Play Randy Travis In A New Biopic

Clay Walker will play Randy Travis in a new biopic set to come out next spring.

The announcement was made at the Grand Ole Opry this week.  The title is “Forever and Ever, Amen” after his 1987 hit and 2019 memoir.

Randy’s wife Mary told “People” magazine they want to “tell [his] life story just as he lived it.”  Clay said it’s a story of “deep struggles,” “redemption,” and a man who’s overcome a lot of challenges.  He called it a story that deserves to be told.

Clay is 55 so he’ll obviously play him in his older years, with younger actors also stepping in.  Randy was 54 when a stroke robbed him of his voice in 2013.

They plan to start filming this summer in Nashville and North Carolina, and say it’ll hit theaters sometime next spring.
