Coin Flip Decides Litchfield City Council Candidate Vote
(Learfield News/Litchfield, MN) — A coin toss decided who will become the newest member of the Litchfield City Council.
Ward 5 candidates Bob Powers and Mick Spillane interviewed for the seat Monday evening and six rounds of voting ended in a 3-to-3 tie each time.
So, a coin was flipped and Powers called “heads” and it was heads.
He fills the seat vacated by Councilwoman Sara Miller.
Powers served 19 years on the Atwater City Council and six years as mayor before moving to Litchfield.
