COLD WEATHER RULE TAKES EFFECT WEDNESDAY

Minnesota’s Cold Weather rule takes effect Wednesday.  Xcel Energy wants to remind you that if you need help paying your energy bills this winter help is available.  The rule says that residential customers are protected from service disconnection from October 1 through April 30 if the disconnection would affect the customer’s primary heating source.  You need to contact your utility and set up a payment plan if you receive a disconnection notice.  You can find out more on the Xcel Energy website or talk to your local utility company to set up a plan if you think you’re going to have trouble paying your utility bills this winter.
