College basketball scorecard from Wednesday night:
Jaylen Crocker-Johnson scored a team-high 17 points, Cade Tyson finished with 15 and Langston Reynolds added 11, but No. 6 Purdue (9-1, 2-0 Big Ten) pulled away from a three-point halftime lead en route to a 85-57 win over Minnesota (5-5, 1-1 B1G) at Mackey Arena. Gopher head coach Nico Medved on watching Purdue pull away in the second half.
Crocker-Johnson scored 11 of his 17 points in the first half, helping the Gophers trim a 12-point deficit to a 35-32 game at the half. He finished the game 6-of-13 from the field, including 4-of-9 from three-point range. The four treys tied his career-high versus Fresno State (1/7/25), while playing at Colorado State last season, and the nine three-point attempts was a career-high. Tyson reached double-figures for the 10th time this season. He was 4-of-11 from the field, but went 7-of-7 at the free throw line, and added four rebounds and four assists. Reynolds reached double-figures for the third straight game and added four rebounds and a pair of assists. The Gophers are back to work on Sunday when they host Texas Southern for a noon tip at Williams Arena. Gopher head coach Dawn Plitzuweit recaps the win.
The Gopher women’s basketball team really poured it on in the second quarter and never looked back as they almost doubled up Alabama A&M 82-44 on Wednesday night at Williams Arena. The Gophers led 17-16 after one quarter but outscored the Bulldogs 30-7 in the following frame to take a 47-23 lead to halftime. From there they closed out the win and improved to 7-3 on the season and 6-1 at The Barn. Gopher head coach Dawn Plitzuweit recaps the win.
Tori McKinney led the Gophers with 13 points while Makena Christian had 12 and Grace Grochoski added 11. Minnesota will host Wyoming at 5 P-M on Sunday evening at Williams Arena.

Men’s Basketball:
Gustavus men got hot from behind in the arc in the second half to defeat St John’s 95 to 80.
Women’s Basketball:
St Benedict raced out to an early lead, extended it 19 by half and ended up with a 67 to 45 victory over Gustavus. Luther College outscored Martin Luther 48 to 25 in the second half to defeat the KNights 75 to 60.
