College Hockey this weekend

(Grand Forks, ND/Minnesota News Network) — A historic college hockey rivalry will be renewed this weekend as the No. 13/14 Minnesota men’s hockey team hits the road for the first time when it travels to Grand Forks, N.D., to take on No. 8 North Dakota Oct. 17-18. The Golden Gophers and Fighting Hawks open the series Friday night at 7 P-M from Ralph Engelstad Arena before the conclusion on Saturday at 6 P-M. Minnesota is 1-2-1 so far on the non conference schedule and coming off a weekend loss and tie against Boston College. >>College Hockey Weekend Preview

College hockey is in full force including this weekend with a full schedule. That includes Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State battling in a home and home series. U-M-D will be in Bemidji tonight at 7 P-M and then the series will shift to Duluth tomorrow for a 6 P-M puck drop. St. Cloud State will host Vermont for a pair starting at 7 P-M tonight in the Granite City. Meanwhile, Augustana will be busy in Sioux Falls with a pair at home against Arizona State. In the C-C-H-A, Minnesota State is at Madison to face the Badgers tonight at 7 P-M. The two teams skated to a 1-1 tie last night as as Wisconsin scored in the third period to pull the game even. And the Tommies are in Colorado Springs for a two game set against Air Force starting tonight at 8 P-M. In the W-C-H-A, points are on the line this weekend as six teams are competing in conference matchups, while the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers are set to compete in the 2025 Women’s Icebreaker tournament hosted by Union in Schenectady, New York. The Badgers get underway this morning at 11 A-M against Vermont. This afternoon, St. Thomas is at St. Cloud State at 2 P-M and Minnesota State is at U-M-D tonight at 6 P-M. Tomorrow the Gophers start a weekend series at Ridder Arena against Ohio State. Puck drops at 2 P-M on Saturday afternoon with the rematch coming up at 2 P-M on Sunday.
