Collier scores 28, McBride hits 6 3-pointers and the Lynx beat the Wings 81-65

ARLINGTON, Texas — Napheesa Collier delivered a dominant performance with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Kayla McBride knocked down six 3-pointers on her way to 21 points, as the Minnesota Lynx rolled past the Dallas Wings 81-65 on Sunday, extending their undefeated start to the season.

With the win, the Lynx improve to 9-0, marking the fourth-best start in WNBA history. Their hot streak recalls the franchise’s record-setting 13-0 start in 2016.

Collier was efficient and versatile, shooting 10-of-19 from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. She also contributed across the board with four assists, four steals, and three blocks. McBride set the tone early, burying a deep three just over two minutes into the game to give Minnesota a 5-2 lead — one they never relinquished.

Despite a strong showing from Arike Ogunbowale, who scored 26 points and made six 3-pointers, the Wings (1-9) couldn’t recover from an early deficit. Maddy Siegrist added 15 points for Dallas. Rookie guard Paige Bueckers missed her fourth straight game due to illness. Though she was cleared from concussion protocol earlier Sunday, she remained sidelined.

Dallas made a push late in the third quarter, closing the gap to one point with a 17-4 run capped by a Siegrist layup in the final second of the period. But Collier quickly halted the Wings’ momentum, opening the fourth with a 3-pointer followed by a mid-range jumper, sparking a final surge that sealed the win.

Minnesota’s all-around team effort included 13 made threes, 25 assists on 29 field goals, 12 steals, and just six turnovers. Natisha Hiedeman added a clutch 3-pointer with just over two minutes remaining to stretch the lead to 15.

The loss marked the fifth straight defeat for the Wings.
