COTTONWOOD COUNTY MURDER TRIAL CONTINUES

The trial in a Cottonwood County murder case is continuing.  Forensics was the primary focus Wednesday in the trial of No Name Given Happy who is accused of stabbing 30-year-old Benjamin Matter of Windom to death on New Year’s Eve at Phat Pheasant Pub in Windom.  Happy is charged with second-degree murder, second-degree assault and making terroristic threats.  The prosecution is expected to wrap up its case Thursday with testimony from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.  The defense could start presenting its case this (Thursday) afternoon.  The defense is expected to call at least one witness Monday.  Friday will be an off-day for the trial.
