DEATH OF INMATE AT RENVILLE COUNTY JAIL INVESTIGATED

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an adult male being held in the jail.  Correctional staff say at around 7:25 am Thursday, they discovered the inmate unresponsive and not breathing in his cell.  Live-saving measures were initiated and the inmate was taken to Olivia Hospital and Clinic where he was pronounced dead.  At this time there is no indication of foul play and is being independently investigated by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.  No further information is available at this time and the inmate’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
