DENNY WARTA PASSES AWAY

A man who made endless contributions to New Ulm, and leaves a huge lasting legacy has passed away.  Denis “Denny” Warta died Wednesday at Oak Hills Living Center one month shy of his 98th birthday.  He leaves a long list of groups, commissions, organizations that he was involved in including being Brown County’s First District Commissioner in 1973 to 1980, he was a banker, accountant, was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1648 and American Legion Post 132.  He served in the first Ward of New Ulm City Council and was always promoting and celebrating New Ulm as a politician or a volunteer.  He was also a lifetime member of the Brown County Historical Society and was very well-versed on New Ulm’s History.  Services are pending.
