Denver will take on BC in National Title game in St. Paul

(St. Paul, MN) — Third-ranked Denver upset number-two Boston University in the opening national semifinal game of the 2024 Frozen Four in St. Paul last night. Bloomington native Tristan Broz (BROHZ) scored an overtime winner to push the Pioneers to a 2-1 victory. Broz is a transfer from the Gophers, who played prep hockey at The Blake School. Denver goaltender Matt Davis stopped 33 shots in the victory. The 31-9-and-3 Pioneers will face top-ranked Boston College in tomorrow afternoon’s national championship game, facing off at 5 P-M at the Xcel Energy Center. Boston ended its season at 28-10-and-2.

(St. Paul, MN) — Top-ranked Boston College skated past tenth-rated Michigan 4-0 in the second national semifinal of the 2024 Frozen Four last night in St. Paul. Eagles freshman forward Gabe Perreault (puh-ROH) scored a goal and had two assists to help Boston College into tomorrow night’s championship game at the Xcel Energy Center. Will Smith got the scoring started for B-C with the game’s first two tallies. Eagles goaltender Jacob Fowler blocked all 33 Michigan shots he faced. Boston College improved to 34-5-and-1 on the season. The Eagles will face Denver in the 5 P-M title tilt tomorrow. Michigan ends the year with a 23-15-and-3 mark.
