DNR FalconCam Chick Takes Flight
(St. Paul, MN) –- One of the Minnesota DNR’s FalconCam chicks took its first flight at 6:47 Tuesday morning.
The other two are expected to fledge soon.
Like a toddler’s first steps, the flight may seem clumsy—but the young peregrine falcons are on their way to becoming the fastest animals on Earth.
Parents will keep feeding and protecting the chicks for now, but once they fledge, they likely won’t return.
You can still catch a final look on the DNR FalconCam (click here) before the nest is empty again.
