DOG DIES, NO HUMANS HURT IN MARSHALL FIRE

A fire Monday night at 501 Village Drive in Marshall displaced residents and killed a dog but no people were hurt.  The Marshall Fire Department was called to the Suite Liv’n Apartments and found thick, black smoke coming from Unit 1.  Firefighters said that they did receive reports of people trapped on the second floor and one had jumped from a second-story window but wasn’t hurt.  Mutual aid came from the Lynd and Ghent Fire Departments, Marshall Police, North Memorial Ambulance and the American Red Cross.  The Marshall Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal are investigating a cause.
