Donn Rau

Donn Aldean Rau, age 74 of Fargo, North Dakota, formerly of Kensington, MN, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, peacefully in his home.

Visitation for Donn Rau will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman, MN.

Funeral services for Donn Aldean Rau will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman, MN.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hoffman, MN.

Donn Aldean Rau, born on November 12, 1950, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, was the firstborn of ten children to Donald and Alois Rau.

He graduated from high school in Kensington, Minnesota, in 1969 and joined the Air Force. On July 2, 1971, he married Marsha Pfau. Shortly after the wedding, he was deployed to Vietnam. After returning from the war, he and Marsha began their family, having four children over the years. Due to military moves, they eventually settled in Fargo, North Dakota, where he resided with his wife, Marsha, for the last 35 years.

Donn is survived by his mother: Alois Rau, three brothers and four sisters; his wife of 54 years: Marsha Rau (Pfau); four children: Donald (Jackie) Rau, Ellen (Danny) Damron, Jennifer Rau, and Jonathan (Amy) Rau: and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and two of his brothers.
